Philodendron ‘Arrowhead’

Description:
Philodendron 'Arrowhead' (also known as Philodendron hastatum or Philodendron 'Silver Sword') is a striking houseplant renowned for its arrow-shaped, silvery-green leaves that add a sleek, tropical feel to any space. This easy-care plant is perfect for beginner plant owners and can be grown as a trailing vine or trained to climb a trellis. The 'Arrowhead' Philodendron is also an excellent air-purifying plant, helping to improve indoor air quality by removing toxins. Watering:
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. While it prefers consistently moist soil, it’s important not to overwater, as this can lead to root rot. Make sure the pot has good drainage, and always allow excess water to drain out. During the Winter months, reduce watering, as the plant's growth slows down.

Fertilizer:
Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (Spring and Summer). In Fall and Winter, reduce fertilizing as the plant's growth slows. Over-fertilizing can result in leggy growth or leaf burn, so it’s best to follow a moderate feeding schedule.

Lighting:
Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some lower light conditions. Too much direct sunlight can scorch its delicate leaves, while too little light can cause the plant to become leggy and lose its vibrant colouring. A spot with filtered light, like near a North- or East-facing window, is ideal for optimal growth.

Temperature:
Thrives in temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). It’s sensitive to cold temperatures, so avoid placing it in areas with drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C), as this can cause damage to the plant. Keep it in a warm, stable environment for the best results.

Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. If the air is too dry, the plant may show signs of stress, such as browning leaf edges or slowed growth. Mist the leaves occasionally, use a humidity tray, or place the plant near a humidifier to help maintain the right conditions.
